Trust & Verification
IGI Certificate Verification
Every diamond we sell is independently certified. Here is how to verify yours.
Every Rare Diamondss diamond comes with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate — one of the most trusted and respected diamond grading reports in the world. This is not a document we produce. It is an independent, third-party evaluation of your exact stone, issued by gemologists with no connection to us. You can verify it yourself in under two minutes.
We do not ask you to trust us. We give you the tools to verify everything yourself.
What is IGI?
The International Gemological Institute was founded in Antwerp in 1975 and is today the world's largest independent gemological laboratory, with offices in over 20 countries including the United States, India, Belgium, and the UAE. Every diamond graded by IGI is evaluated by trained gemologists using standardised equipment under controlled conditions.
An IGI certificate is not a receipt or a warranty — it is a scientific report documenting the precise characteristics of a specific diamond. It cannot be forged on the stone itself, because each certified diamond has its unique report number laser-inscribed on the girdle (the outer edge of the diamond) — invisible to the naked eye but readable under magnification.
Independent grading
IGI has no relationship with Rare Diamondss. Their assessment is entirely objective.
Laser-inscribed number
Your diamond's report number is inscribed on the stone itself. The certificate and stone are inseparable.
Publicly verifiable
Every IGI report can be verified instantly on IGI's official website using your report number.
How to verify your IGI certificate
Locate your report number
Your IGI certificate will be included in your package when your order arrives. The report number is printed prominently at the top of the certificate — it is a unique number assigned to your specific diamond and no other stone in the world.
We also send you the IGI report digitally via WhatsApp or email before your order shipsVisit the IGI verification portal
Go to the official IGI website at igi.org and navigate to the "Verify Your Report" section. This is a free, publicly available tool maintained by IGI — not by us.
igi.org → Verify ReportEnter your report number
Type your IGI report number into the verification field exactly as it appears on your certificate. The portal will return the full details of your diamond — cut, colour, clarity, carat weight, measurements, and the inclusion plot.
Compare with your certificate
Every detail shown on the IGI portal should match your physical certificate exactly — the report number, the 4Cs grades, the measurements, and the date of grading. If everything matches, your diamond is exactly what we told you it is.
What you will see when you verify: The full grading report including carat weight, cut grade, colour grade, clarity grade, polish, symmetry, fluorescence, measurements in millimetres, a diagram of the inclusion plot, and the date the stone was graded by IGI.
What your IGI certificate contains
When you receive your IGI certificate
Every Rare Diamondss order ships with the original physical IGI certificate inside the package. Before your order ships, we also send you a digital copy of the certificate via WhatsApp and email so you can review and verify it before your piece even leaves Surat.
Keep your certificate safe. Your IGI certificate is a permanent record of your diamond and affects its resale value. Store it with your order confirmation in a safe place. If you misplace your certificate, a replacement can be requested directly from IGI — we can assist you with this process.
Have a question about your certificate?
Our team is available around the clock to walk you through your IGI certificate, explain any grading detail, or help you verify your stone. We encourage every customer to verify — it takes two minutes and gives you complete confidence in what you have purchased.
